Lock Bump Redux: Medeco Insecure

I have posted before about Bump Keys and the thieves who use them. Medeco quickly positioned itself as a secure alternative to insecure locks. Well, this story from Engadget explains how it is possible to bypass the security mechanisms with home made tools.
So, what’s the point of this post? Not much. Just a reminder that locks are only one layer of protection. Our door are primarily attacked with coat hangers or crow bars. Lights, alarm systems, and cameras provide the follow-up protection.
The article mentions that the Pentagon and White House use this type of lock. Do you think that demonstration of this vulnerability makes it more liekely for someone to break in? I doubt it.
