Thief is seen among the faithful
Parishioner accused of taking $28,000 from collection plate

“William J. Biunno, 71, a trustee, usher and member of the choir at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, was charged with stealing the money over an 11-year period, according to Sgt. Vincent Gagliardi of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.”

Just a reminder why it is important to have more than one person in charge of the offering and church money.

Benjamin Franklin wrote: “Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.”

The more people involved and  looking out for each other, the less likely someone will be to fall into temptation.
